Successful migration of Amber Plasma’s IT environment across 12 locations in the Czech republic

In September, we successfully completed a long-planned IT environment migration project for our customer, Amber Plasma a.s. The objective was to migrate the company’s end-user devices from its original tenant to the IT environment of the international company LFB. The project marked another important step towards integrating Amber Plasma and Europlasma and consolidating their IT infrastructures.

Several months of preparation and testing

The migration itself was preceded by several months of intensive preparation. As the project involved the IT environment of an international group, it was essential to align not only technical requirements but also individual procedures and the overall migration schedule.

The preparation phase therefore included numerous technical and organizational meetings with LFB representatives, primarily from France. These discussions focused on the target IT environment, migration scenarios, and coordination between the teams involved.

Thorough testing was another essential part of the project. Before the actual migration, we verified individual procedures to minimize potential complications and, above all, reduce the impact of the transition on the day-to-day operations of each location.

The preparation of the cloud-based server environment was handled by an external company in cooperation with the XANADU team. Our primary responsibility was the preparation and subsequent migration of end-user devices.

Twelve locations in a single day

The key phase of the project took place on a Sunday to minimize disruption to the company’s regular operations. XANADU technicians were deployed simultaneously to 12 locations across the Czech Republic, where they migrated approximately 90 desktop computers and 50 laptops in a single day.

In total, approximately 140 devices were successfully migrated to the new environment. The migration included joining the devices to a new domain and enrolling them in LFB’s Microsoft Intune environment. The work also involved configuring the necessary applications, printers, and other services to ensure that all workplaces were ready to resume normal operations.

On-site user support

Our work did not end with the successful technical migration of the devices. An equally important part of the project was ensuring a smooth transition for the employees themselves.

On the following business day, XANADU technicians were once again present at all locations. They provided on-site assistance to employees, helping them log in to the new environment for the first time, configure their email accounts, and address any individual requests or issues.

This approach allowed us to quickly identify and resolve minor complications that can arise during migrations of this scale, minimizing the impact on employees’ daily work.

The result? Approximately 140 devices successfully migrated

The project demonstrated the importance of combining thorough preparation, testing, coordination between multiple teams, and carefully planned execution when managing large-scale IT migrations.

Migrating approximately 140 devices across twelve geographically dispersed locations in a single day required precise organization and close cooperation among all parties involved.

The result is a unified end-user device environment managed by LFB, representing another significant milestone in the integration of Amber Plasma and Europlasma’s IT infrastructures.

The project in numbers: 12 locations across the Czech Republic, approximately 90 desktop computers and 50 laptops, 140 migrated devices, and several months of preparation, coordination, and testing.
